Why Infrastructure Projects Can\u2019t Afford Re-Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Did you break yours this year?<\/p>\n\n<p>New Year&#8217;s resolutions, that is.<\/p>\n\n<p>The second Friday of January is known as Quitter\u2019s Day\u2014the point when nearly 80% of resolutions are abandoned. If that sounds familiar, you\u2019re not alone. <\/p>\n\n<p>What strikes me is that a resolution is technically a re-solution, solving the same problem again.<\/p>\n\n<p>This is not an ideal path to take.<\/p>\n\n<p>In infrastructure and long, multi-phase pipe projects, re-solving means added risk, added disruption, and most importantly, added cost.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-fl-accent-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-fl-accent-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-re-solving-is-the-most-expensive-outcome-in-infrastructure\">Re-Solving Is the Most Expensive Outcome in Infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n<p>In large-scale infrastructure projects, a \u201cdo-over\u201d isn\u2019t just inefficient, it\u2019s avoidable.<\/p>\n\n<p>Re-solving can mean:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Additional excavation or rehabilitation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Service interruptions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schedule overruns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Budget escalation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced public and stakeholder confidence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>While ISCO absolutely embraces and excels at re-solving a problem (see slip-lining, <a href=\"https:\/\/isco-pipe.com\/en-ca\/applications\/culvert-rehab\/\">culvert relining<\/a>, and pipe bursting) we aim to help customers avoid needing those fixes in the first place.<\/p>\n\n<p>Because the best project outcome is one that doesn\u2019t require revisiting decades later.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-fl-accent-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-fl-accent-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-we-mean-by-a-true-solution\">What We Mean by a True Solution<\/h2>\n\n<p>When we talk about solutions, we mean two things:<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1. A comprehensive project solution. Not just pipe. <br\/><\/strong>A solution isn\u2019t a single project.
