When I first heard of Spirolite\u00ae, I imagined two coveted childhood toys\u2014Spirograph and Lite Brite\u2014creating a mind-blowing offspring. Guess I&#8217;ll file that million-dollar idea away for later, unless you beat me to it!  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spirolite\u00ae: A Closer Look<\/h2>\n\n<p>While the ACTUAL Spirolite\u00ae isn&#8217;t as colorful as the imaginary progeny, its value and versatility can be quite illuminating.<\/p>\n\n<p>Spirolite\u00ae is a specialized HDPE piping system designed for fluid conveyance that includes pipe, fittings, lift stations, manholes, and other structures made from spirally wound HDPE pipe.<\/p>\n\n<p>In a day where aging infrastructure is being replaced by higher capacity systems and new projects are planning for future expansion, the demand for larger diameter, long-lasting, and low maintenance piping solutions is increasing.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Spirolite\u00ae Stacks Up Against Steel, RCP and CMP<\/h2>\n\n<p>While steel, reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and Corrugated metal pipe (CMP) have long been used for large-diameter piping, Spirolite\u00ae provides superior advantages for low pressure and gravity applications\u2014offering diameters up to 120\u201d with a design that simplifies installation before the pipe is even in the ground.<\/p>\n\n<p>It begins with Spirolite\u00ae \u2019s profile extrusion process, which is far more efficient than the elaborate and expensive process used to manufacture concrete and CMP.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Spirolite\u00ae is manufactured using an exclusive profile extrusion process, where recycled HDPE material is continuously wound onto a mandrel. Its unique profile provides dual sealing for double protection: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Compression seal to prevent exfiltration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A combination of compression and hydraulic sealing to prevent infiltration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>For applications involving exotic effluents (that would be a great band name BTW) or requiring a higher-pressure rating than 25 feet of head, Spirolite\u00ae can also be thermally welded. A field extruder applies a bead of polyethylene at the bell and spigot junction, forming a completely leak-proof joint. The weld bead can be placed inside, outside, or on both sides of the pipe.  <\/p>\n\n<p>With either joining process, the ease and simplicity of the bell and spigot joint allows for faster, more efficient installation.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fewer Joints, Faster Installation<\/h2>\n\n<p>Another major advantage?
