The system offers a variety of HDPE fittings for the natural gas industry to get the job done. Our HDPE fittings are molded from virgin PPI-Listed PE4710/PE100 resin. Each fitting is designed and tested to meet or exceed ASTM F1055, ASTM F2897, ASTM D2513, and ASTM D3350. Products then go through our rigorous, ISO 9001 certified, quality management system.
Offered in sizes from ½-inch CTS to 16-inch IPS the MTD electrofusion coupling was the first molded fitting MTD developed building the foundation of the system.
The electrofusion elbow utilizes the MTD proprietary fusion mat technology which delivers industry leading quality and reliability. At first offered in 45- and 90-degree configurations, we then introduced the first 22.5-degree molded electrofusion elbow to the gas market.
Our electrofusion reducers range from ¾-inch IPS x ½-inch CTS to 12-inch IPS x 8-inch IPS. These reducers can be used in combination with other MTD system components to achieve custom do it yourself or prefabricated solutions.
The MTD standard tapping tee is offered in main sizes from 2- to 12-inch IPS with outlet sizes ranging from ½-inch CTS to 1-inch IPS. Our standard tapping tees are equipped with a truly integrated clamping mechanism for toolless and consistent clamping.
Our high-volume tapping tees are offered in main sizes from 2- to 12-inch IPS with either a 1 ¼-inch IPS or 2-inch IPS outlet. The MTD high-volume tapping tee features a truly integrated clamping mechanism for toolless and consistent clamping. Additionally, all high-volume tapping tees are equipped with an advanced cutter design that allows for outlet flow to be completely shut off after tapping. Cap wrench and safe stop tapping tools are also available.
MTD tees are offered in a variety of size configurations as well as electrofusion and butt fusion variants, to meet your needs.
Featuring a truly integrated clamping mechanism for toolless and consistent clamping, the MTD electrofusion brand saddles is offered in main sizes from 3- to 12-inch IPS with outlet sizes ranging from 2- to 8-inch IPS.
The MTD Inline POLYTAPP HDPE ball valve is offered in sizes ranging from 2- to 16-inch IPS and has a maximum operating pressure of 125psi. All sizes are SDR11, full-bore valves with either a short or extended stem that can be opened and closed with a quarter turn of the operator. The inline POLYTAPP is available in butt fusion x butt fusion, electrofusion x electrofusion or butt fusion x electrofusion.
MTD endcaps are offered in sizes ranging from 1-inch CTS to 8-inch IPS. Each endcap was designed to be as compact as possible to allow for easy installation in tight spaces.
MTD also offers a line of steel control fittings to meet our customers’ needs. These fittings are designed for our natural gas customers and provide the same level of quality and availability expected from MTD.
All MTD steel fittings are designed, tested and manufactured to be used on pipelines operating in accordance with ASME B31.8 or DOT 192. All welding and inspections are performed per API-1104 and ASME section IX. A material specification and other test reports is available for each fitting. All products go through our rigorous, ISO 9001 certified, quality management system.
Offered in sizes from 2” to 12”, our weld tees are compatible with existing tapping and plugging equipment.
Offered in sizes from 1¼” to 12”, our weld tees are perfect for main relocations and lateral connections. Rated at 285psi at 100° F ~ 248psi at 180° F.
Offered in sizes from 1¼” to 12”, MTD weld fittings feature a low-profile design for easy installation in tight spaces. Each fitting comes complete with a cap or blind flange.
Offered in sizes from 2” to 12”, MTD full encirclement tees are rated at 740psi at 100° F ~ 675psi at 180° F. Each size is compatible with existing tapping and plugging equipment.
Used for the blow down of an isolated pipe section follow a line stop operation, the MTD purge and equalization fittings are rated to 1480 psi at 180° F.
Offering a several configurations and sizes, the HiSeal valve line offers industry-leading quality and safety. These valves are assembled using a patented assembly process that allows for consistent pressure to be applied to each side of the ball leading to consistently lower operation torque and lower defect rates. Additionally, integrated anti-static devices, fire safety devices and other safety and operation options are available.

For every fabricated project, CAD drawings are developed for your approval and a standardized drawing number is issued. From there, your custom design is realized in one of our state-of-the-art fabrication facilities. This includes abrasive blasting and advanced coatings for lasting protection and reliability. Additionally, test reports are available for all products along with an as-built drawing and a detailed traceability package.
Each welder in our facilities goes through rigorous internal testing and certification and is equipped with extensive knowledge of industry standards such as API 1104 and PHMSA 49 CFR 192. Our welders are also supported by at least one American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) at each location. Through our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, each project is inspected and/or tested at each stage of construction. Each test report is included in the quality package that is delivered with the finished good. Additionally, we store each quality and traceability package in our cloud based Doccenter for easy electronic retrieval.

Alongside manufacturing fittings and tools, we also offer custom polyethylene fabrication services. For example, if you have a standard configuration that is used in your system such as a tapping tee with a specific outlet length or type and integrated excess flow valve, we can make that happen. This service increases your operators’ efficiency as all that it reduces their workload to single fusion in the field. With a team of experienced fusion operators that are requalified annually, all aspects of MTD PE Fabrication are tightly controlled. The whole process starts with your needs. From there, we will draft CAD drawings for your component but if you are not sure what you need, we are more than happy to design options for you. After you have decided on a drawing, we then make sure that all components used in its assembly are approved by your standards and engineering department so that there are no issues for your operators. We keep a record of your drawing forever. If there is ever a change needed, we create a new revision for you to approve. Once your drawing is approved and an order placed, that drawing is law. From tolerances to angles, each fabricated item is built to your specifications.
Through our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, each run of PE fabrication is checked multiple times during the process, at the start of the run, throughout the run depending on volume, at the end of the run and after packaging.
