HDPE Pipe: Joining and Installation Methods
From fusion methods to trenchless installation, learn how to install a monolithic HDPE piping system for your project. Join us to discover the most common HDPE pipe installation and joining methods, including side wall fusion and butt fusion, and when to use them. Plus, we’ll examine both open cut and trenchless techniques and feature a real-life example of the City of Ft. Lauderdale 30″ Force Main field installation.
McElroy DynaMc 412 Fusion Machine Used in Tight Space
Learn how ISCO’s compact and lightweight McElroy DynaMc 412 hand pump fusion unit was used to replace a 12-inch corroded steel pipe inside a potable water storage tank in San Clemente, CA. The limited access to the reservoir presented a challenge, but the innovative solution provided by ISCO’s total piping solutions made the project a success, completing the job on-time and within budget.
HDPE Pipe Successfully Installed for Lake Marion Regional Water System
ISCO’s HDPE pipe was used for the water crossing section of the nearly $6 million Lake Marion Regional Water System project in South Carolina. The project aimed to provide clean, treated and affordable water for the region, with ISCO providing technical assistance and custom wall anchor restraints for the installation.
HDPE Replaces Aging Sewer System Under Pacific Coast Highway
Underneath the Beauty: The Newport Force Main Rehabilitation project replaced decades-old sewer main running underneath the Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, California. ISCO provided high-density polyethylene pipe, McElroy fusion equipment, and expertise on the job. The report discusses why HDPE was the clear choice to replace the existing sewer main and how ISCO’s support and alternative options ensured a timely and successful project completion.
Sliplining Critical Sewer Force Main: Multi-Million Dollar Solution for Catastrophic Failure in Miami-Dade County
Learn how ISCO Industries and Ric-Man Construction provided a cost-effective and time-saving solution to repair a catastrophic failure in a critical sewer force main in Miami-Dade County. By sliplining miles of the most severely weak sections of the main with 63-inch HDPE, the project saved the owner more than $4 million and avoided massive inconvenience caused by excavating and replacing the pipe.
SAWS Diversifies Water Sources with HDPE Pipeline from Carrizo Aquifer
San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS) is tapping into the Carrizo Aquifer to diversify its water sources. ISCO helped solve the challenge of bringing water to the city with over 122,000 feet of HDPE pipeline. The project used field bendable and durable HDPE, saving costs, reducing environmental disturbance, and providing a 50- to 100-year lifespan. HDPE proved to be leak-free and corrosion-free, with no cathodic protection required, leading to lower maintenance costs.
